Our Farm: A Short History
Herd animals have occupied the Tall Grass Prairies of Minnesota for thousands of years. The climate, plants and animals have changed, but the prairie evolution continues at our farm. The StoneBridge property was originally settled by the Drong Family, Polish-American pioneers in the late 1800s. Mike and Sue Stine, the present owners, refurbished the farmhouse, originally built in l915. The StoneBridge name comes from the split stone bridge over Turtle Creek, originally constructed as a WPA project in the l930s.
Mike has enjoyed an extended medical R&D career with Boston Scientific and St. Jude Medical. He created StoneBridge Beef to focus on the health and environmental benefits of pasture-raised beef. Having worked in the medical field, his career provides him with direct knowledge of how grass-fed beef produces higher omega-3, CLA, and other essential fatty acids (EFA). For more information click good health. Researchers are continuing to define the benefits of grass-fed beef in controlling heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. StoneBridge Beef is rooted in a deep and intimate understanding of human and animal health.
